Uniformity as Culture

commondense:

The fact that so many people feel so utterly lonely in a city of millions has nothing to do with those people not being adapted to ‘reality’ or ‘society’, or mental inadequacy, but has everything to do with society not being adapted to humanity and natural reality.

The anomaly is that so many people are so adapted to an unnatural state of being. Depth of experience is removed from social interactions and honesty and sincerity are replaced by peer pressured fads and fashions. Loneliness among many ‘friends’ is a reality for all those who still have their individuality.

The really important personal epiphanies in life are largely ignored. When your opinion doesn’t follow the projected ‘opinion’, your words fall on barren ground, unheard, misunderstood, ridiculed.

“Accept and adapt” replaces “think for yourself”.

Uniformity as culture… an abomination.

I don’t agree with this 100% but there is a lot of truth in there, for sure.
